JELLY TUBE PRODUCTION

This product has the greatest potential of becoming a major seller due to the fact that there is no animal content, is high in energy and does not require refrigeration but best served cool. The recipe was developed in conjunction with the Food Technnhology Centre ( D.P.I ) Queensland.

Production of this product is the same as for jelly cups except instead of using the tub filling and sealing machine, the finished product is pumped from the holding tank of a machine designed to make two plastic tubes then fills both tubes with jelly mixture ready to be transferred into trays ( or cooling tunnel if possible ) for cooling and then packing.

It would be quite feasible to set-up this machine to produce two flavours at once as it incorporates two separate pumping and filling stations.

This product was packed into a carton containing 4 x 2 sets of 2 different colours and flavours ( 8 tubes x 50ml each per carton ) as per pictures below.

The twin seal tubing machine is quite versatile and capable of packaging almost anything with the correct set-up as can be seen by the ice block re-wind picture below.

Possibilities of production with this machine are almost endless and once again limited only by ones imagination ~ example: the company's long term goal was to produce in tubes the following products:

Ø Jelly and custard in a variety of flavours (one each side of twin pack).
Ø Puree fruit – baby food ( which has a huge market ).
Ø Ice blocks ( proven seller for summer production ).
Ø Sauces (the list of sauces are endless ranging from tartar to tomato)
Ø Soups (many varieties of soups can be packed with this machine).
Ø Dressings once again the range is endless.

To Note
Ø All three liquid fillers "double and single tube as well as the cup filler" can fill many items other than food e.g. soaps, shampoos, detergents, etc.
Ø As well the Jelly Crystal production can be used on other non food items such as small personal packs of powered soap or single size packs suitable for laundry use again the list goes on and on.

Picture of the twin tube machine which produces at a rate of 20 twin packs per minute or 1,200 packs per hour of virtually any product that can be pumped into the plactic tubes formed by the machine.
Above shows re-wind that was used to make ice tubes for the lucrative children's market but this product was dropped due to the jelly tube production requiring full use of machine.
Picture of two of the packs for jelly tubes which were sold to the supermarket trade. Both packs became top sellers until the decline came owing to merchandiser not fulfilling his side of the agreement.
