JELLY CRYSTAL PRODUCTION

Once again the owner has chosen logically regarding his choice to find additional production. The crystal jelly production is a complete dry product that needs very little skill to produce. Basically the ingredients are placed into the ribbon mixer and once mixed the finished product is ready to pack.

The method of production used for producing the jelly crystals is to mix sugar, gelatine, colours and flavours and place into the ribbon mixer and mix for approx five minutes to ensure that all ingredients are evenly distributed and blended together ( picture of ribbon mixer below ).

This mix is then discharged through the bottom outlet into a stainless steel tub set up on a roller platform and positioned close to the sachet machine. The cyrstals are then scooped into hopper attached to the sachet machine ready for filling the sachets.

The size of the sachets are dertermined by the forming box fitted onto the machine ( picture of sachet machine on right ). This machine is currently set up for the 44g of jelly crystal sachets 75mm x 120 mm in length. However a different forming box could produce sachets with a maximum size of up to 120mm x 120mm, or as small as 50mm x 50mm if required.

Presently the machine is packing at 55 x 44g sachets per minute.

The finished pack contains two sachets of jelly crystals in different colours and flavours each weighing 44g. The packs are then sealed by the carton gluing machine ready to be placed into the outer carton for distribution.

This product was a steady seller and production of the jelly crystals was an everyday event. This would be one of the lines that a new owner would reactivate as soon as possible after take-over.

This is a picture of the sachet machine used to produce the sachets that go inside the jelly crystal packs ( as pictured below ).
It is a fast machine being capable of packing in excess of 75 sachets per minute.
The above products have been a stable seller since the business was purchased even though production has only recently ceased but the owner feels that this would be one of the first products that a new owner
would bring back into production.
Another view of the jelly carton sealer.
Above is a picture of the ribbon mixer used to obtain
an even distribution of the jelly mix ingredients to ensure that the finished product is of the the highest quality.
The above two pictures show the carton sealer which is used to seal the small cartons containing the two jelly sachets. Once sealed they are then placed into their shipping carton ready for distribution.
The product mixer can be used to mix small quantities of dried fruits, nuts, etc, to add to the company's existing range of products.
