Summary

Buying similar machinery new on todays market would cost approx $230,000.00.
Used machinery would cost approx $80,000.00.

Marshmallow sales averaged during the past three years $109,059.00 per year with an average
manufacturing gross profit of 42.9% or $46,885.00 per year.

The following chart is a quick guide to determine a break even point required to recoup the purchase price of $77,000.00.

Gross manufacturing profit averaged 42.9% during the past three years.

To arrive at your net profit you would need to determine from your balance sheet the additional costs that could apply to your existing overheads.

This amount is then subtracted from the manufacturing gross profit ( $46,885.00 ) to arrive at the percentage of net profit applicable to the Wafer Line.

This percentage when applied to the calculations below will give you the time it could take to recoup the purchase price.

Most companies work on three to five times net profit.
A lot depends on the value of the equipment and how much you can increase existing sales.
As an example, in the case of Arnotts I believe Campbells paid seven times the net profit.
